Time flies! Today the blog is turning one year old and I thought it would be right to honour its French inspired name. I started blogging as a way to share the happiness I find in the kitchen and so far this very small and humble page has given me nothing else but sheer joy! And of course, no one else but those who share with me this passion, and have become friends and acquaintances, are responsible for this great pleasure.
Writing online has taken me to different places. As I shared on a
previous post, about three months ago, I started collaborating as an editor for the French Gastronomic Association in Argentina, whose members are mainly French chefs living and working in the country. The web page content includes news, recipes, chef biographies, events and everthing related to the latest trends in gastronomy around the world.
So far I have written about fourteen articles and interviews, and I am quite thrilled with each new task I have to comply with. One of the things I enjoy most is when I get to know the original recipes from the French chefs' restaurants and patisseries around the city.
This is how I came across the recipe for these dainty petit croissants. Bruno Gillot is a French chef in BA, owner of L'Epi Boulangerie, together with his associate Olivier Hanocq. They make spectacular bread, all kind of pastries and what I love about their recipes is that they use natural fermentation, everything you get in their place is organic and healthy. Right now I have a batch of sourdough on my kitchen counter, to use as a starter for a recipe I learned from them, when I attended one of their epic baking lessons.
I have tried other recipes in the past but always there is something I want to change or do in a different manner. This time I went strictly "by the book" and I was suprised at myself for the result. After all, I am dealing with a recipe from a high authority in the matter!
